Ms. Mery is a trial attorney and litigator who has handled a range of commercial and employment disputes in state and federal courts, arbitration, and mediation. She has represented plaintiffs and defendants, from privately held and medium-sized companies to individuals. Her work has included high-stakes and sophisticated commercial litigation and general business disputes from an array of industries, such as software companies, a medical imaging practice, and a large propane company.
Some of Ms. Mery’s prior notable work includes:
- Representeded a closely held LLC in a dispute involving claims to ownership and defeating $18 million damages claim.
- Represented plaintiff-whistleblower in a False Claims Act retaliation jury trial that resulted in $1.8 million verdict for the client. After the defendant appealed the jury verdict, the case settled favorably on appeal.
- Counseled employees in employment-related disputes and employment discrimination claims.
- Advised employer on non-compete and non-solicitation agreements.
- Member of trial team that represented plaintiff vodka maker at a jury trial in a trade dress infringement case involving a confusingly similar bottle, resulting in a nationwide injunction and disgorgement of profits.
Ms. Mery has been active in civic and charitable activities: she is an active member of the New York State Bar Association as well as a Fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation. She has also served as a member of the Judicial Selection Committee of the Houston Association of Women Attorneys (2018-2020).
